All you need to know about booking your holiday at Casa Rafela – well, I hope it’s all you need to know!

  • How do I know if Casa Rafela is available? We always keep our Availability Calendar up to date with confirmed bookings, but it is essential that you enquire before committing to flights, etc., as there may be a booking in progress for a week that appears available. If time is short alert us to your email enquiry by SMS or ring. +34 675 626563
  • Is there private parking space at Casa Rafela? Yes, Casa Rafela is at the end of a lane that doesn’t go any further, we have our own plot of land right opposite the front door with parking space for two cars. Furthermore, although Casa Rafela is one of a row of five houses, it is the only one of these whose front door opens onto this lane.
  • Are there any shops/cafés/restaurants in the village? No, there are only twenty-odd houses in Fígols (and only ten permanent residents!), so the nearest shops, etc. are in Tremp, a fifteen minute drive. Cafés, restaurants, etc. are a mixed blessing in small villages, however, as their clients rarely consider the residents’ right to peace and quiet!
  • Can we do some shopping on the way to Casa Rafela? Yes, most routes to Casa Rafela pass by Tremp, our market town, along the way. We produce our Essential Guide map for supermarkets, cafés and restaurants, etc., although it’s often better to check-in to Casa Rafela first and return to Tremp equipped with our full printed guides, which include food glossaries, details of the small specialist shops, etc.

  • Have you SatNav co-ordinates for the routes to Casa Rafela? Yes, on request. Our routes from the airports and border crossings are tried and tested, and none of them involve more than four decision points – so SatNavs aren’t necessary at all. In fact we offer a caveat – in Spain roads are not engineered in accordance with their ‘status’, e.g. National highway, etc., rather, they are geared to their importance to local traffic. So apart from the usual glut of SatNav errors, which are now becoming pretty well known, we send you along the best roads through stunning scenery – leaving the SatNav addicts to wrangle with the caravans, motor-homes, trucks, etc. that follow the more common routes!
  • Do we need to download the guides to staying at Casa Rafela? No, all of the guides you will find on our Casa Rafela web site are available in  folders ready to take out into the field – furthermore, these guides include the latest printed information from the local tourist offices, national parks departments, outward bound companies, etc.
  • Are pets accepted? Yes, oh very much yes! Note that we don’t live in Fígols – so our two huskies don’t have any issues about territory! In fact the ‘territory’ is perfect for walkies!

  • Can you accommodate an extra person? No, the accommodation is strictly limited to four persons. This includes the furniture; dining tables, chairs, etc. But note that thanks to the family bathroom and en-suite shower/wc in the main bedroom, two couples sharing Casa Rafela have a great deal of privacy for the ‘bare’ essentials!
